Snow & Ice Control

City crews are responsible for plowing and de-icing more than 180 miles of city streets in Apple Valley. Learn about our plowing procedures.

Reminders to Residents

We sincerely appreciate the cooperation of residents as our crews work to maintain city roads throughout the winter. Thank you for following City Ordinances that keep our plowing effective and our community safe:

  • Do not place snow within the public street or walkway because it creates a public safety hazard for vehicles and pedestrians
  • Snow and ice must be removed from public sidewalks within 48 hours
  • Do not place trash and recycling bins in the street
  • On-street parking is prohibited any time snowplowing or snow removal operations are in progress
