[ARCHIVED] It’s Time to Remove Inlet Protection from Construction Sites for the Winter

The City requires removal of inlet protection adjacent to roads, parking lots, and pedestrian pathways in construction zones to prevent safety related concerns from ice formation during the winter.

The City requires removal of inlet protection adjacent to roads, parking lots, and pedestrian pathways in construction zones to prevent safety related concerns from ice formation during the winter. Inlet protection can cause additional ice formation because it slows the flow of water into stormdrains, leading to freezing of ponded water during the winter. A builder can request written city authorization to remove inlet protection by contacting 952-953-2463.
