[ARCHIVED] Thefts from vehicle reports increase in Apple Valley

Due to the onset of warmer weather the Apple Valley Police have seen increased reports of thefts from vehicles.

Thefts from vehicles are preventable by following some simple steps to ensure your property remains safe. Always lock your vehicle when parking it for any length of time. Remove ALL valuables/items from your vehicle when left unattended. Park in well lit parking spots and use your garage to park your vehicle in overnight if possible. Many of the incidents of theft from vehicle reported to the Apple Valley Police involve vehicles that were unlocked. Thefts from vehicles are usually opportunistic crimes. If you remove the opportunity, you remove the crime. Contact the Crime Prevention Unit of the Apple Valley Police Department for more information on thefts from vehicles. Don't be a victim, lock your vehicle and remove all valuables. Help us help you.
