Code enforcement can be a useful process in ensuring the health, safety, and attractiveness of our community. The code process in Apple Valley is largely complaint driven. Here is some information regarding the code process and how to share your concerns.
Code enforcement begins with a complaint. Complaints can be made by residents, the general public, or any city department. Complaints are always kept anonymous. Code enforcement staff then conducts an inspection to verify all violations present at the property of concern. Once verification is made code staff becomes the complaint source and any information provided by the initial complainant will be used solely for the purpose of contact by code staff for requested updates.
When making a complaint please be as specific as possible regarding the location (address & street of the property in violation) as well as a complete description of the conditions. There are several ways you can share your concerns with Code Enforcement:
1. By selecting “Report a Code Violation” under “Quick Links” on the Code Enforcement webpage at: http://www.ci.apple-valley.mn.us/index.aspx?nid=1742. Call: Val Abbott – 952.953.25703. Email: Val Abbot – email@example.com. Or, visit us at the Municipal Center: 7100 147th Street W; located in the Community Development Department
Code enforcement works diligently and courteously with all property owners, managers, and residents towards resolving code violations in a timely manner.
